Your Local Guide to Meeting Other Moms in Denver

New to Denver or new to being a mom? Our local guide is just for you. Learn where to meet moms online and in-person to explore your neighborhood and community.

The root of Denver’s vibrant community and family starts with none other than the moms that make it happen. Amongst the greatest parks, most fun children’s museums, and most engaging public schools are moms working to be the best they can be for themselves and their families.

Whether through getting fit, talking it out, or finding forever friends, let’s break down all the ways moms living in Denver can get connected to their community.

Online Communities for Moms

City Mom Collective

What it is

When you need the resources, you go to City Mom Collective, “a positive voice for motherhood.” Imagine a meeting ground where moms support each other through their parenting and entrepreneurial journeys, all while looking at their fellow members as their sisters. Stop by this online hub as a working mom, influencer, small business owner, or simply a parent balancing their life and kids.

What you can do

You’ll find Mom Collectives all over the country, from Birmingham to Portland to Denver. Their Denver Chapter website showcases local guides, a community calendar, and mom-published articles about parenting while living in Denver.

Go to the blog for parenting wisdom, marriage, topics on pregnancy and travel, and peruse posts like “Struggle is a Great Teacher,” by local mom Jill Barghelame or “New to Two: Being an Only Child with Two Littles,” by local mom Elizabeth Schnakenberg.

Check out the community calendar for real-time updates on the newest kids events (and as a place to add your own events!), like Free Day at Dinosaur Ridge and Disney on Ice, and browse the top things to do in Denver this weekend.

If you’d like to get involved in Denver Mom’s Guide, join their team to volunteer blog posts and get more involved in the Denver Moms Collective community.

Peanut App

What it is

Peanut is an app for women in all phases of their parenting journey to build a community of supporting mom friends through care, empathy, and collectivism. Think about it like a dating app for mom friends, with forums, live podcasts, and private messengers all built into the platform. Plus, it’s totally free.

What you can do

Just like any social media platform, create a profile, upload a picture, and write a bio about who you are; but unlike many social media platforms, answer questions about your favorite topics, your lifestyle and habits, and your interests so you match with moms like you. Filter by location of moms living in Denver and in its surrounding area, and by moms with the same interests as you, like both loving spirituality, being non-drinkers, or working remotely.

Ask questions about pretty much anything in the forum, talk in a Peanut Pod— a live chat with multiple women— or message a mom directly to schedule a meet up.

Mile High Mamas

What is it?

Parenting with altitude. 😎🌄 Mile High Mamas is the ultimate online Denver hub for moms to browse everything from child activities to summer camp and ski guides to parenting forums and advice columns.

What you can do

Browse through archives for a simple way to find articles, and input your email address for Denver-based updates. Browsing the blog will connect you with resources, like virtual and in-person new moms groups, summer camp ideas like the Colorado Overnight Summer Camp at Blue Mountain Ranch, book recommendations, and more. Sometimes during those late nights when you can’t get out of the house, an online space built just for those in your area can help you connect with your community all the more.

In-person Communities for Moms

Online communities are great– but what about when you want to get out of the house? If you’ve got some time on your hands, or want to carve out a schedule that engages with other mothers in person, Denver’s got in-person mom-centric communities, too. For the exercise lovers, support group attendees, or the up-for-anythings– these are for you.

FIT4MOM

What it is

FIT4MOM membership-based fitness space geared directly towards moms from pregnancy and beyond. Try it at no charge (first class is free) to get to know the space and women before making a commitment, and never be afraid to come into class, whether you’ve just had your baby, or are still pregnant.

What you can do

Start by stopping in for a free first class before you officially join the FIT4MOM community. There are three main communities where the classes are held: North End Central Park, Northfield-Prairie Meadows Park, and Toca Denver-Bladium Fitness Center. Find one closest to you, and enjoy FIT4MOM trademarked classes like FIT4BABY®, a 6-week prenatal workout that includes group workouts, journaling, and community support to help you prep for birth whether it’s your first or fifth, and Stroller Strides® for after your birth which is an hour-long cardio, strength and core workout all with your baby in their stroller. Join the Fit4Mom Denver Facebook group to connect with moms between classes.

Meetup

What it is

Meetup makes it easy to find moms living in Denver who love what you love. Just download the app, join a group, and go to an event to see the simple magic of meetup. Once you get acquainted with it, you can start your own group to bring like-minded people together, too!

What you can do

Type in a search term, like “first-time mom,” in Meetup’s search bar, and you’ll find meetups based on what’s around your area. Filter by a mile to find events closer to your neighborhood for an even easier night or day out. You’ll find clubs ranging from MOMs Club of Denver, Denver First-time-Pregnant & New Moms Network, and Mental Wellness Mom Squad. Or, type in a different search term to fit what you want in a Denver group.

MOPs

What it is

MOPS, or Moms of Preschoolers, is an international Christian-based organization that offers support for moms with little ones, with a chapter right here in Denver. With a small membership fee, you’ll be a part of a group that bimonthly meetups in a local church for moms to get together and connect with other moms of preschoolers.

What you can do

There are four main group types, the most popular being MOPS groups of about 30 women who meet at a local Denver church bimonthly during the school year. But even if your kid has moved on to elementary school, MOPS still has offerings to help, with MOMSnext, a group for women with elementary-age kids. Mama Meetups are MOPS’ online offering for moms to meet virtually to keep the spark of connection alive even when they’re far away. Plus, MOPS international offers ways to connect with MOPS members all over the world through events like MOMCON. 🙌
